The Superextended facelift

We have used the superextended face lift technique on 3580 women. The superextended face lift involves freeing the face and neck skin, surface muscles - including the lower side edges of the platysma muscle (goes all the way from the lower neck over the jaw to the lower face). These are then trimmed into shape and fixed to nearby tissue which causes them to be moved upwards and sideways slightly.

The shape of the neck is changed by pulling the platysmal muscle there sideways along the entire neck, and carefully shaping the fatty layer above it. Next, the skin is redraped over the new structure, trimmed to fit and fixed back into place without any tightness.

As beauty, in this instance, is in the eyes of the surgeon, there might be other proceedues involved during or after the superextended facelift.

The whole idea of a face lift is a young looking, natural, mobile, soft and attractive look that is long lasting. A super-extended facelift can achieve this. There is a lack of major complications and a minor complication rate of less than one in twenty, so it would appear to be a safe and reliable facelift technique.
