What to do about fine lines / moderate wrinkles.Do you have fine lines and wrinkles? Do you look older than usual in bright light? A wrinkle, even a fine line, is effectively a scar.
You have to do two things..
The first thing to do is to treat the wrinkle, which is covered on this page, the second thing is to prevent more wrinkles. Copper peptide creamsAs wrinkles are effectively scars caused by repeated stretching and compressing of your skin, they can be treated with copper peptides like any other scar. (Incidentally Vitamin E and Primrose oil have no effect on scars, or none I've seen in any scientific research anyway). Copper peptides will cause the breakdown of scar collagen, which is a different type of collagen to normal collagen. As it breaks down it is gradually replaced with normal skin collagen (There are 12 or more types. Only one is normal skin collagen). The benefits of copper peptides for wound healing are well established. As well as breaking down abnormal scar collagen, synthesising normal collagen, elastin and other components of the skin matrix, it helps the migration and rearrangement of cells to form smoother skin. I'm not sure anyone knows yet why copper peptides do this. I can personally attest to the fact copper peptides remove fine wrinkles, and I also used it after a nasty skin gouge that should have left my back scarred. A year later the skin is perfectly smooth, although I fgeel I must mention copper peptide creams sting quite a bit if there is a decent amount of the active ingredients in. Apply copper peptides once a day, but not at the exact same time as AHAs or Retinoic Acid. Also give your skin a break from copper peptides every two or three days and also for two weeks every two months. More on copper peptide creams including where to buy them, and how to know which creams are good and which contain the useless 'colorless copper'. Alpha Hydroxy AcidsAHAs are used a variety of reasons - smoothing fine lines and wrinkles, improving skin texture and eveness of tone, unblocking and shrinking pores (yes - it can be done), improving oily or acne prone skin, and to improve skin condition in general. They increase the turnover of skin cells and rebuild of collagen and elastin plus improve the internal moisture-holding matrix between the skin cells. AHAs peel off excess dead skin cells and stimulate the growth and thickening of the dermis and epidermis by about 25% while improving the quality of elastic fibers and increasing collagen density. With long term use, as well as reducing wrinkles, AHAs remove many skin lesions such as weathered skin, freckling, blotchy pigmentation, sun damage, age spots, mild acne scars and benign skin overgrowths. Use AHA peels in combination with copper peptide creams for added effects. That is use a peel to cause the skin to star a healing reaction, then several hours later use the copper peptides for increased wrinkle repair with the right type of collagen. Retin A, Tretinoin and retinoic acids.Click to find out more on Retin A, Tretinoin and retinoic acids - the only FDA approved wrinkle creams - plus a far cheaper natural source. Topical estrogen creamUsing topical estrogen cream in a controlled group study yielded the following results: after 6 months of use, a marked improvement in skin elasticity and firmness was noted; wrinkle depth and pore size decreased over 60%. Skin moisture and collagen synthethis increased significantly. I have no personal experience with topical estrogen cream, it but here is a study on it from pubmed - topical estrogen. Hyaluronic AcidI've heard good reports of this as a topical skin cream (applied to the skin) or as a supplement at 1000mg per day (glucoflex).
